Vows that Wow: August Edition

Gray and Audrey got married in downtown Charleston, and their day leaned soft and romantic in all the right ways.

Their portraits took them through some of the city’s most iconic backdrops: charming balconies, palm trees against pink stucco, and the steeple of St. Michael’s Church. Gray wore a fitted lace gown with delicate straps, while Audrey chose an off-shoulder tulle ballgown with a cathedral veil, two completely different silhouettes that still felt like they belonged to the same story. Both carried loose, garden-style bouquets full of blush roses, blue delphinium, and baby’s breath.

Gray and Audrey started their wedding morning by walking a couple blocks through downtown Charleston in their pajamas for coffee, then sat on their porch reading private vows to each other. The sweetest start to the day.

Charleston weather had other plans for part of the day, but Gray and Audrey didn’t let it slow them down. One of our favorite shots from the whole gallery, captured by Georgia and Micah Photography, is the two of them walking hand in hand under a clear umbrella, veils trailing behind them, completely unbothered by the rain.

The reception carried the same soft palette indoors, long tables dressed in white linen and lined with wishbone chairs, with bud vases of blush ranunculus and blue delphinium scattered between taper candles. A ficus tree tucked into the corner and vintage brass chandeliers overhead gave the whole room a warm and cozy feel.

Later, the two of them wandered through a marigold garden in full bloom, a small detail that ended up giving us one of the most romantic images of the day.

Behind the scenes, Rebekah St. Cyr Soirees ran point as their day-of coordinator, keeping the schedule and vendors moving so Gray and Audrey could actually be present in their own day. Gray and Audrey found Wed Society through their photographers, Georgia & Micah, and their biggest takeaway from planning is one worth passing on:

“The wedding isn’t supposed to be stressful, it’s supposed to be fun. Once they let the day be about them instead of everyone else, the whole thing got easier.”

From the rain-soaked portraits to that marigold garden stroll, their wedding proved that a soft color palette and intentional moments are all you need. Congratulations, Gray and Audrey!
