Vows that Wow: September Edition
For our Vows That Wow September 2026 feature, bride Ovo shares an insider look at her and Robert’s traditional black-tie celebration in Charleston, a wedding defined by effortless luxury, flexible planning, and high-energy moments.
The Power of Flexibility & Vision
Planning a large-scale, classic wedding requires a balance of clear vision and adaptive execution. Reflecting on her experience, Ovo notes that her biggest takeaway was learning to be flexible with changes and, above all, trusting an experienced wedding planner who truly gets the vision. Having a strong creative team allowed the couple to navigate the planning process seamlessly and focus on what mattered most: creating a lavish, memorable experience for their guests.
“Be flexible with changes. And hire a great wedding planner that’s experience and understands you vision.”
Traditional Black-Tie with Modern Luxury
Set against the timeless backdrop of Charleston, Ovo and Robert’s wedding embraced full black-tie elegance. Every detail was crafted to exude sophistication, elevated by lighting and decor designed to transform the space into a high-end sanctuary.
Working alongside LIT Charleston, the design team leaned into creative concepts that brought the couple’s vision of refined luxury to life with dramatic ambient lighting and carefully curated decor elements. Adding to the elevated guest experience, Cru Catering delivered an exquisite culinary layout featuring passed hors d’oeuvres, custom seafood bites, and handcrafted signature cocktails that kept the cocktail hour and reception feeling truly decadent.
The Ultimate Entrance
While the decor and culinary details set a magnificent scene, the highlight of the day came when Ovo and Robert stepped into their reception space for the first time as newlyweds.
With the live band hyping up the room and playing their signature song, the couple made a grand entrance that instantly set the tone for the night. Surrounding them were their closest family and friends, matched with an electric, magical energy that made the moment unforgettable.
